Project origins

Ottica Adami’s redesign started from a clear request: enhance the existing bespoke fixtures, made nearly thirty years ago. The owners wanted to give new life to high-quality elements without altering their character. The challenge was to preserve the original craftsmanship while making the space more current and functional.

Approach

The intervention followed a circular, sustainability-led logic. Working with the same carpenter who produced the original fit-out, each element was recovered and adapted to meet today’s needs. The layout was refined to improve usability and customer flow, lighting was redesigned to better highlight the products, and natural materials were introduced through sound-absorbing solutions to increase comfort.

A new identity

A key part of the project was rethinking the niches on the back wall, originally used to display cameras. The redesign turns this constraint into a focal point with a continuous, angled mirror inspired by Leandro Erlich’s installations, expanding perceived depth and adding a distinctive signature. The refraction room door becomes a graphic element, finished in an intense purple tone that anchors the updated concept. The result is an authentic, contemporary optical store project that combines identity, craftsmanship and a more sustainable mindset.
